The New Zealand Free Range Egg Company was formed in 1988 after eight years of practical research to meet the growing demand for a reliable, wholesome alternative to the mass produced battery egg.

Our first trial flocks proved that naturally healthy hens could be economically farmed outside, 365 days a year, without artificial intervention. Not only were the hens happier, but as a result, they produced beautiful, flavoursome fresh eggs.

With this traditional farming knowledge plus innovative production and packaging, coupled with educated marketing skills, Frenzs soon developed a strong base throughout New Zealand and similar markets in California U.S.A, becoming New Zealand's first and only exporter of Free Range Eggs.

This demand for Frenzs reliable quality and dependable service has resulted in 10 million eggs air freighted to the U.S.A. and Hong Kong since 1991!

With the growing public demand for naturally produced food, Frenzs have responded by breeding and rearing their own traditional free-ranging chicken, and we now grow and harvest our own G.E. free organic maize here in New Zealand.
